First-ever Career Fair for

Girls & Young Women

September 23, 2023

In recognition of Prince Edward Flying Club's 70th in 2023, we are hosting our first-ever Career Fair for girls and young women. Called Find YOUR Wings, this half-day event will be held September 23, 2023, from 1 to 4 pm. 343 County Road 22, BASE 31, Picton. Rain or shine.

The Career Fair is free to everyone, and is designed to introduce young women to careers in aviation industry. To encourage them to:

Explore professions they might have dreamed about but were afraid to try
Learn about jobs they may not even know exist

We want to inspire young women to broaden their horizons, follow their dreams, believe in themselves, and think about the great things they can achieve.

During this event, you can talk with pilots and learn about various aviation-related companies and organizations, e.g. Air Cadets, RCAF careers, museums, flight schools, universities and colleges, airlines, and female pilot support organizations including the Ninety-Nines, Elevate Aviation, Northern Lights Aero Foundation.

There will be short presentations (30 minutes + Q&As) throughout the afternoon by women and men involved in aviation-related careers. Visitors can also walk the flight line to see static displays of local light aircraft owned by PEFC members, helicopters, aerobatic aircraft, and an RCAF CF-18 cockpit. In addition, female firefighters and OPP officers from PEC will be in attendance with firetrucks and cruisers.
